life in morganhdad
Hey everyone,
I wrote the press release for the bombing but I have some questions about the news article I should write. I'm thinking maybe I should wait until I see what you have written about the even so that our stories can coincide. Is this ok? if anyone sees this before 5pm just comment back, thanks!

Re-Cap of Tuesday

Jenn--

Here is a recap of what we did today...

By Thursday have a brief outline of what your story will include. We decided on having one main location i.e hospital for red cross, school for civilian, etc..., 4 additional locations/events throughout the day and the endpoint is going to be the council of ministries (mountainlair) where the bombing will take place. Compile all of your information in a Word document. We will need to have all pictures/links/videos by next Tuesday.

We decided there is going to be a "talk" given by the ex-mayer of Baghdad which will be why we are all at the Council of MInistries. You will be there reporting the event, Ann and Casey will be attending the talk, Cara will respond to the bombing.

The specific tile of the speech is real and is as follows:

RFE/RL's Radio Free Iraq (RFI) correspondent Ahmad al-Zubaydi interviewed ousted Baghdad Mayor Ala' al-Tamimi on 9 August by telephone after he was forcibly removed from his position on 8 August by armed men supporting Baghdad City Council Chairman Mazin Makkiya.

If you want to search the actual speech contents google "ousted mayer of Baghdad speaks" and it should come up.

Next tuesday night at 5pm we will be meeting at the CAC with the guys to put together our stories and the interactive maps. Because we are meeting at 5 we won't be meeting at 1.

LAST: For our presentation, check out the link Camera Zapper. We have divided up the rest.

If you have questions email us!

Today's meeting

Hey guys-
I'm not going to be able to make it to today's meeting. I just wanted to let you know that I'll need a picture of the DA building and the Post office for my story. Let me know what else I need to do and I'll talk with you in class on Thursday. Sorry about this!

What's left?

Hey everyone... Sorry for missing, I've been really sick. I read the blog, but am not sure what is left for me to do? Let me know if there were any remaining personas and if not, I'll come up with something. Also, does anything need to be done by next Tuesday? Please post to the blog or email me. Thanks! ~~Casey

April 8th Meeting

Ann Murray - I am going to be doing the civilian.
Cara Folk - I will be an American Red Cross worker.
Jen Krebs- I will be an embedded reporter in Baghdad's greenzone.

We were planning on using the mountainlair as the greenzone bombing site. We will also be using a hospital, the expressway, and whatever else would be relevant. If you have any suggestions or questions please email us.

Interactive Map

Hey group 4,

Doug and I (Scott) will be working on the interactive map this weekend. We are going to do a photoshoot between now and saturday for the map. We wanted to know what key buildings we will be substituting for buildings in baghdad. Please let us know asap so we can get these photos.

We've been brainstorming ideas for how the map would work. Our idea is to use a map of Morgantown and have highlighted the key buildings. Upon mousing over these buildings a rollover of its Baghdad equivalent will appear (probably photos from Google Earth) and stagings of events that we come up with. The rollovers will be 3-D; we will take photos of the buildings from different angles and these will stand on top of the 2-D map.

Also we will not be able to have our meeting on sat. april 12th at the cac. If we could meet another day that would be great. We can talk about that tuesday.
